Constipation Symptoms Treatment
Using Rhubarb For Constipation
Vegetables such as fruits and their juices have healing properties due to the fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals they contain. With constipation, vegetables are an excellent source of minerals and fiber. In addition, there are certain vegetables and their juices that stimulate the colon to work harder.
Benefits of Vegetables
The juices are quickly absorbed into your bloodstream. As a result, your cells are quickly given up nutrients and wash away waste. Juices give you the opportunity to get immediate relief from various ailments such as constipation. The juices enter your colon quickly to cleanse it and perform a peristaltic action.
Eating and drinking vegetables and their juice provide you with minerals and nutrients that make up your blood, tissues, bones, and cells. Minerals make up all the organs in your body. Minerals maintain the pH of your body to the required level. It is a mineral that keeps your body alkaline by changing body acids.
Minerals build up tissues and cells in the wall of your colon so that your colon can perform those functions that prevent constipation.
Keep in mind that some natural recipes for constipation require the consumption of bitter or aromatic vegetable juices. As you will find, some vegetable juices taste good and some do not. Remember that you are dealing with a situation that needs to be cleared up and that drinking is not fun.
As you drink some of these vegetable juices, you may find that you like certain ones and they can be your usual daily or weekly drink.
James A. Duke, Ph.D., in his book, The Green Pharmacy, offers the following remedy for constipation using rhubarb,
Rhubarb has a strong laxative action so it is best to use it with other juices. Here's how to put one together for use with your garden. This tart drink will help you with constipation. One glass three times a day.
A small amount of this rhubarb drink would be,
Combine three stems of rhubarb, - peeled lemon, a teaspoon of maple syrup, and a cup of live apple juice. You can add more syrup if the taste is too bad. Do not use rhubarb leaves as they contain toxic chemicals.
Use only raw rhubarb because it contains high oxalic acid. Use it sparingly and do not overcook it. Cooking converts organic oxalic acid into inorganic oxalic acid. The body easily absorbs inorganic oxalic and forms crystal deposits on the kidneys and throughout the body.
Do not use rhubarb in case of arthritis or gout.

Also, increasing the amount of water we drink can help alleviate the symptoms of constipation. Most people do not drink enough. By drinking too much, you can not only relieve the symptoms of constipation, but it will also improve your overall health, making you feel better.
